History of Grove Hill Memorial Park

Grove Hill Memorial Park was established in 1911 by the Elliott family of Dallas, and over the last century, has performed more than 60,000 burials. Although always considered to provide perpetual care, Grove Hill was organized as a not-for-profit corporation in the 1950’s and officially became a perpetual care cemetery. Management of the facility has proudly been handed down through three generations of the Elliot family.

In 1988, Grove Hill Funeral Home was built on a tract of land adjacent to the cemetery. With its reputation for excellent service, beautiful architecture and design, the funeral home quickly became the funeral provider of choice for the East Dallas area. In 1989, Grove Hill Funeral Home joined the Dignity Memorial® network, and in 2000, the Grove Hill Cemetery Association became a part of the Dignity Memorial network.

Today, Grove Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park proudly serve families together in the Dignity Memorial network as East Dallas’ only funeral home and cemetery combination.
